Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bangalore is one of the busiest airports in India. It is located only 40 kilometers from the city center, making it an important gateway for travelers. • Kempegowda International Airport Terminal 2 is the new addition to the Airport and started operations in December 202. Terminal 2 is designed to be more spacious and modern. It has 15 gates, which helps reduce congestion at the Terminal. This Terminal is also known for its eco-friendly design and has lots of greenery inside.

The Bangalore airport's distance from different parts of the city varies. From MG Road, which is a popular area in Bangalore, the distance is around 35 kilometers. It takes about an hour by car, depending on traffic. From Whitefield, another major area, it is about 45 kilometers. Kempagowda International Airport's owner is Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL). The Government of India has given BIAL permission to operate the Airport for 30 years, with a choice to extend for another 30 years. BIAL is a mix of public and private ownership. GVK originally owned 43% of the Airport but sold 33% to Fairfax Financial in 2016 for ₹2149 crore. Now, 26% of the Airport is owned by government bodies, while 74% is held by private companies Fairfax Financial and Siemens.
